Welcome to Altable a new kind of social media marketplace. Altable plans to combine the best of social media with the best of social marketplace. Our goal is to support Altered individuals and their endeavors. Altered is just another term we use for disabled. Altered definition nor Altable is limited to disability, there are many ways of life that are not considered norm. Anything from being left handed to being a single parent. Our mission is create a market and community to support these sellers without nickel/diming, hidden fees, and selling data. We hope to reward both buyers and sellers in the community and meet any needs that may arise. About us
Altable was developed after finding that many social media markets online lacked something called social. Between the noisy overcrowded product plugs and the pay to sell formats the connecton with one of a kind people making one of a kind things was lost. In search for way to make a better social media market Altable was formed.
Founder/Creator THoughts
In the new era of marketplaces sites like etsy have created amazing opportunities for crafters. Sadly it seems greed has taken ahold of many, leading to foreign mass productions filling online “shelves” and people who for one reason or another try to pass this off as something of value. This destructive practice has lead to the creation of multiple other social marketplaces, some for the right reasons, some not. I have been on fence of creating Altable as a non profit for this reason. Either route we will make sure we have rules in place to keep market as pure as possible with rare and one of a kind items as well as sellers who truly rely on their craft to support themselves. My goal is to reward those who do things right even if its the hard way, reward those who support it even if means doing it different, and reward all who don’t have a choice of easy route and wouldn’t take it if they did.
Altable is one venture under the brand Altered LLC. A brand that raises up those who need a hand up and not a hand out. Altered will consist of other ventures that look to put people first, not exploit and not just see them as ad revenue. The beauty of the internet is we can create this dream together.
